My name is Stripes and I am a happy 12 year old girl! I first met my foster Mom in 2019 when my first pet parent had to go into assisted living and couldn't take me with her. I lived with my first Mom since I was a kitten - for my first several years - with 5 other cats.
I met my next pet parent in 2020. It was just me, him and another cat. He took great care of me and I really loved him, but unfortunately passed away and I was sent back to my previous foster Mom in November 2023.
I can be shy at first, but I am super snuggly and talkative when I come out of my shell. I absolutely love cat treats! I also love a good cat tree by a window and a soft bed. I still love to play - especially with my crinkle ball! I love to throw it around and carry it in my mouth while I am talking and pretending I caught a wild animal! I have seen wild animals through the windows, but thankfully I have always lived 100% safely indoors. I haven't lived with a dog before, but I am getting pretty used to calm dogs. You see, I am currently living at my foster mom's dog grooming salon. It's ok there, but it isn't home. I miss the quiet days of a home and sleeping in bed with my person. I live with the 2 "shop cats" at the grooming salon. We get along because they understand that I like my own space.
In my next home, I wouldn't mind being an only pet. I would love to be the center of attention! But I also do well with other cats that aren't insistent on being my friend or in my space. And I am ok with calm dogs that are used to cats - as long as I have some time to get used to them and know that I have a safe place when I want to get away. I can be nervous - so young kids would probably make me really scared. But older kids that would understand my nervousness would be ok. I have never hurt anyone - I just hide when I am scared. I also have really good litter box habits! My foster Mom said I should mention that because some cats may have trouble in that area.
