South Paw's Story

South Paw is a special guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. When he was just a kitten, he faced some complications that required a perineal urethrostomy—a surgery that creates a new opening to help him pee more easily. Now fully recovered, South Paw will need to be monitored throughout his life for signs of urinary tract infections and difficulty or straining to urinate, just to keep him feeling his best. He’s currently on a Science Diet Urinary Care diet, and while we’re working on transitioning him to regular adult food, it’s possible he may need to stay on his special diet long-term.

Don’t let his past fool you—South Paw is a rambunctious, goofy fella who’s been in foster care with dogs and genuinely believes he’s one of them! He would do best in a home with just one other cat, as it takes him a little time to warm up to feline friends. The same goes for kids—patience is key. With his playful spirit and dog-like antics, South Paw is ready to bring endless entertainment and love to the right home.

Meet and greet/adoption appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!
DON'T FORGET! Cats often do better with a friend! All our cats and kittens have an "Adopt one and the 2nd at half the adoption fee!" bonus!!!

Our kitten/cat adoption fees vary on age, special needs, lonely heart status (cats that have been with us 6+ months), and for our senior to seniors program. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. All pets are up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee is paid.
