FORT KENT, Maine - PAWS Animal Welfare Shelter presents SOLSTICE.

Meet Solstice – a cute little girl with brown tabby coloring, who is just over a year old. Solstice was rescued from Van Buren, where she was born to a feral mom cat. As a result, she is still getting used to humans. Like many "formerly ferals," she is more cat-focused right now than human-focused. She enjoys following the other shelter cats around, and for her to be a happy girl, Solstice needs to go to a home with at least one other friendly cat for her to bond with, and from there we have high hopes she will be able to bond with her human companion(s) as well. She is already spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations.

If you would like to meet Solstice, she tends to get a bit overwhelmed by the busyness of our regular Open Hours, so please just contact us here at PAWS (543-7348) to make an appointment to meet her.

PAWS is a nonprofit organization that rescues abandoned cats in the St. John Valley. Organization members believe most pets can be socialized and prefer not to release them back outdoors, as winters are harsh in Northern Maine. PAWS operates as a no-kill shelter. Their mission is to get owners to spay and/or neuter their animals to help cut down on the population and give all animals a better chance at a quality life. PAWS Animal Welfare, Inc. spays, neuters and vaccinates mature animals before they are placed out for adoption.
