Solar's Story

Solar is an inquisitive but reserved beautiful little girl. She is a bit shy with new people but once she warms up to you she will quietly purr and relax in your lap. However she does love to play with toys and her siblings so she would do best in a home with other playful kitties.<br/><br/>We want to make adopting easy for you! Here’s our application: https://form.jotform.com/232837730565159 Once you complete it, we’re on it! We’ll call your vet (or personal reference) the next business day. Then we like to do a brief video chat (FaceTime if you have it) so you can show us your new pet’s home - where they’ll sleep, eat, and play. During our chat, we can also give you tips or answer questions about how to successfully integrate your new family member into your household, especially if you have other pets. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers our costs of spay/neuter, vaccinations, vet exam, and supplies. (Once old enough, all our cats are current on their shots and have been spayed/neutered.) We’re a strictly no-kill shelter just for cats. We’re cage-free, donation-based, and volunteer-powered. We’re small but special and we’re glad you found us! RappCats's Adoption Policy

We keep it simple. An adoption counselor will discuss your situation and the personality and behavior of the cat you are interested in to help you feel comfortable that the cat is suited to your home. We ask that you provide us with a reference, preferably your veterinarian. We do a brief home visit to ensure that everyone (including your other pets) will be comfortable with your new kitty. Many times this home visit will occur when we bring the cat to your home to finalize the adoption, especially if you live a considerable distance from Rappahannock County, but it can vary according to your needs and the cat's needs. If you rent, we must see a copy of your lease to verify that you are allowed to have a cat. Our adoption fee is $150, which covers the costs of required vaccinations and spaying or neutering the cat.
