Meet Socks
Socks was abandoned on the Stanford Campus at least 5 years ago. She was obviously a pet because, though shy from living outdoors without a home, she came to love and wind around her feeders legs. She could be held and would purr, yet we had no fosters, so she stayed near one of our campus stations. After 3 years, we knew someone had to take her home as she craved companionship, so she was scooped up, taken to the vet for shots and checks where we found she absolutely hated to be caged and hated the vet. She had to be sedated to be checked. At home with her foster, she continued her cautious, but loving ways before being adopted by a wonderful man who loved her for almost a year, but finally had to cry uncle, realizing she was unhappy with being owned by a male. His female friend could hold and love on her, but Socks hissed at him. So, back to the foster where she now is hoping to find a quiet home with a loving woman who likes to spoil her kitties, but let them have independence, too.
