Shimmer was a stray in Hudson, Iowa. She kept coming to a WPR foster home to be fed. The foster home did some investigating and found out a family cast her out and she was fending for herself. So the foster home took her in and she is now a WPR kitty. Summer is now up to date on shots, spayed, and she also tested negative for FeLV / FIV.

Shimmer is a Turkish Angora looking (all white, long hair) adult female: Age is unknown but more than 2 and younger than 5 as of December 2020. She is ear tipped (can hardly notice). A family cast her out...apparently this family does this after the outgrow their kitten stage. An older neighbor had her fixed and eartipped and was caring for her but we believe something happened to the older neighbor lady as Shimmer has been hanging out at the house where she was brought to my attention. With winter we decided she deserved a chance at finding a home inside as she loves people and is a definite lap cat! She gets along with other cats and has no litter box issues. She has not been around dogs or children.

Will someone please adopt Shimmer and give her a true forever home? $95 adoption fee.

To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
