Meet Shamu

I'm a sweet boy who was born in August 2020 on the street along with my 3 brothers. A nice rescue lady picked us all up one day in early September and took us to safety (and went back to help my feral mom get spayed too!).

I was adopted out with one of my brothers who looks a lot like me, named Mojo, when we were around 3 months old. Everything was going well, but the new adopter kept on taking us to the vet and letting the vet give us all of these shots we already had or didn't need, or were too young for. As a result, we both got really sick and the adopter gave us back in early January 2021 and didn't even want to help us!

The original rescue lady took us into her home, which was so crowded and we had to live in a cage for a little bit. I was actually really okay about the whole thing and adjusted just fine. Even though I had a serious illness, I actually never got sick. I had to go on this pill every day for almost 3 months, but I never got sick during that time at all, and after I was done with the meds, the vet said I was in perfect health and nothing ever happened to me again after that. Pretty crappy that the family who adopted me just couldn't do that, but at least we ended up back with the person who saved our lives to begin with, and got the medical treatment we needed.

Sadly, I've been stuck in the rescue lady's home for over two years now since we were returned. She was so paranoid about my brother's overall health that she delayed getting us a new home because she wanted to make sure that he was fine and that he wouldn't get sick again, and she intended on keeping us together. But we're really not super close the way we used to be. We've been through a lot of stress here and the experience has changed us. So I'm fine with getting a home on my own, as the only cat, with the full attention of a human or two.

I am a very easy going boy. I would love to have space to play with toys because I have no room to play where I am now because it's so crowded with cats. I sleep on the bed with the human the few times a month she can sleep here, and I love a comfy blanket. I also love mealtime and am very food motivated.

It's now halfway through 2023, and I feel like my time to shine is finally here! So let's shine together and send in your adoption application today!
