Meet Shadow

Meet Shadow!

He is super friendly and affectionate. He is around a year and a half old and is very healthy. He's extremely affectionate, loving, old enough to be well behaved but young enough to still be playful and fun.

Shadow tested positive for exposure to the feline leukemia virus. He is not sick in any way, but in the future he could develop some immune system weakness. Finding a forever home for them simply means finding them a home with no other cats who are not feline leukemia positive. Most adopters already have another cat, so Shadow have options that are a bit more limited. If you have no other cats, your home may be perfect for them! This is not something that affects humans or dogs.

Many people ask about the life expectancy of feline leukemia cats. Truthfully, it can be anyone's guess. Kittens who are diagnosed typically have a short life span. Shadow was diagnosed as an adult cat, which is good news for him. Felines who are positive for the virus can remain healthy for months or years after their diagnosis until the virus becomes active. In fact, some cats can live to be 10 to 15 years old if they are diagnosed as an adult.

Shadow is very healthy and likely will have many more years of a wonderful life to enjoy with you, please consider giving him the wonderful life he deserves!

Before applying for this cat, please think the decision over thoroughly and make sure the whole family is in agreement. Owning a cat is a huge responsibility that is not something that should be rushed into. Each cat from Rescued Treasures has been saved from an uncertain future. If you are thinking about adopting, please remember it is a LIFE-LONG commitment. Cats can live to be at least 14 years old...are you ready to take care of him/her that long?
