Shadow Domestic Short Hair Melrose, MA

Shadow is a big, friendly 11-year-old boy with an even bigger personality. Despite the heartbreak of being abandoned and betrayed by people he thought were his family (he was dumped just because of moving-- perhaps these people had never heard of a lifetime commitment), Shadow has not lost any of his friendliness. He also has a history of being great with kids who understand how to treat cats. We have not observed him with dog or other cats. Shadow is an easy cat, suitable for a first-time adopter. Because he is very social, he should be adopted into a home where he will not be alone for long periods of time.

He has:
- been neutered
- been vaccinated against rabies and distemper
- been tested negative for FeLV and FIV
- been treated for worms and fleas
- had a recent dental treatment

His adopter will receive his medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. He's being fostered in Boston.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. During the pandemic, we've learned that fosters supplying short video clips of the cats to potential adopters and/or connecting via video app, and adopters making their adoption decisions based accordingly has streamlined the adoption process. We are exploring the possibility of in-person meetings as the state gradually reopens.
