Meet Selene, a 9 month old DSH Tuxedo gal. With her striking black and white fur, she was named after a Titan moon goddess from Greek mythology. And our little Selene is also a bit of a night owl herself and loves to watch down on the world from the highest vantage point in the room.

Sadly, Selene and her sister, Harmony, had been brought to a shelter at 4weeks old and spent the next 7 months living huddled together in a small kennel. Confined in a metallic cube, behind bars -- the only thing they had known was each other. Despite this they both remained friendly, purring little kitties.

Now Selene (and her sister) have been freed from their tiny prison in the shelter and are experiencing a whole new world! There's so much room! So many places to explore and things to discover, they are finally getting be playful kittens.

Selene, is super playful, whether it's with her sister or even playing on her own. With her people, she particularly enjoys "cat fishing" (stick toys) and hunting the elusive red dot. Selene is curious of new people, pets and places. She has the heart of an explorer and while she is very easy to handle, she prefers to come to you when she is ready for attention. Now that Selene has enjoyed a taste of life outside a kennel, she is fully ready to join a family and find a home.

She is being fostered in Staten Island

Kittens are only adopted in pairs or to homes with other pets. They are very social by nature and need to be with other pets for their socialization.

The adoption fee for a single kitten is $150, a pair of kittens is $200
