Meet Scrappy and Shaggy (Bonded Pair)

Scrappy and Shaggy are an adorable pair of 5-month-old, sweet and affectionate kittens looking for their forever home!

Scrappy and Shaggy are some of the best lap cats around! They came into rescue separately as tiny babies and became buddies in foster care. They love to be with their people and are normally pretty well behaved outside of occasional kitten mischief.

Shaggy (black) is a very sweet, happy boy, and wants to be everyone's friend. He loves to be held and cuddled and receive as much attention as possible. He is often the first to greet new humans that come to visit and is always ready to play. It seems nobody has told Shaggy that he has special needs--he can do anything they can, with just as much energy and enthusiasm!

Scrappy (brown tabby) is pretty quiet around new humans and usually allows Shaggy to take the lead but given a bit of time to warm up (and perhaps some treats), he'll show you how affectionate he can really be. He is the best work from home assistant and can turn anything into a toy. He also has the biggest eyes, softest fur, and loudest purr around!
Shaggy and Scrappy love to play! Some of their favorites are mouse toys and balls, and they also love to wrestle with each other. Once they're all tired out, they enjoy finding a nice lap or cat tree to rest on.

These boys are full of kitten energy and will occasionally run "zoomies" around the house. They should do well as long as they can have some toys to play with and would love to include their humans in the fun!

Shaggy was born with pectus excavatum, meaning that his ribcage and sternum are misshapen. In July 2023, he had a brace installed to correct this, but it unfortunately wasn't as successful as we were hoping. After much discussion, Pet Haven decided against putting him through another, more invasive and painful surgery, and opted to let him to stay as he is. Right now, Shaggy is doing great and has no medications or activity restrictions, but this could cause more problems for him as he continues to grow. Pet Haven and Shaggy's foster would love to give you more information about him and his condition!

Shaggy and Scrappy currently live in a house with 2 adult humans and lots of other cats of all ages, sizes, and personality types.

The ideal family for these boys will be able to give them plenty of attention, have patience with Scrappy's reserved nature, and be able to take care of any medical needs that Shaggy might have in the future. They would especially like if their future family would allow them to snuggle up in the big bed at night.

The boys are great with other cats and kids but might do best with older kids as Scrappy gets a little startled by sudden movements and loud noises. They haven't met a dog yet, but would probably do well with a calm, cat savvy canine companion.

We're not sure what Shaggy's future holds or how his condition may or may not affect him as he grows. Pet Haven will of course give his adopter as much information and support as possible, but his new family will also need to keep a close eye on his health and ultimately be okay with the unknown. We promise this sweet, happy, friendly boy is so beyond worth it.

These loving, fun boys can't wait to be your best friends!
