Scotland was a stray living on the streets in Waterloo, Iowa. We took him and his siblings in. They are living in a foster home. Scotland is now up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and neutered.

Scotland - About 1 year old as of May 2020.

Scotland is a sweet boy. He is slightly shy in new situations but once he settles in, he is a love. He purrs easily and loves to be petted. He likes to be held and loved on but not for long. He would rather run around and play. He again is timid at first, but once he feels safe you see his true sweet personality. He has not been around children or dogs. I think he would be ok with older calm children. He needs a home with no young children. He does well with all other cats.

6/24/20 UPDATE: Scotland is a sweetheart once he gets to know you. He is shy and unsure in new situations so needs a little time to settle in before you get to see his true personality.

Scotland has had multiple eat infections in his short life so far. Finally got it cleared up enough where the vet could see fully into his left ear and discovered a polyp. That polyp explains all the infections. Scotland had surgery on Monday. He is recovered nicely and doing well. Sending the polyp in to Iowa State to get an analysis of that it is. We are optimistic this surgery will be a success and he will not get any more ear infections. The vet is hoping he never gets another polyp in his ear, but said in the future it is possible it could happen again. Whoever adopts him will need to keep that and make sure he gets to a vet right away if he starts to have ear issues again. I will update this once we get his results back from Iowa State.

7/15/20 UPDATE: Got results back and nothing to worry about. His polyp was just a polyp! No cancer. Scotland is doing great.

Scotland's adoption fee is $95.00.

To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
