Scooter is a gorgeous, unique calico cat - check out the cool markings on her face! She had a tough start at life - rescued by her owner after she was found frozen to the sidewalk as a kitten. Her owner had a soft spot for animals and brought her into the house where she joined another cat, Scruff, also up for adoption. Scooter is a sweet, shy girl that let the other cat be the boss and take center stage. Her beloved rescuer became ill and went into a nursing home, leaving Scooter alone with her brother Scruff. A family member checked on them daily as they waited for their owner to return home. Sadly, their owner passed away around Christmas, and Scooter came to our rescue. Tyson's Place Animal Rescue assists terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets.

We immediately brought Scooter to our vet, where she received vaccinations and full blood work. Our vet discovered a mammary tumor, so we had this removed and a full x-ray done - no further tumors exist. She is a healthy girl!

Because Scooter is a shy girl, she would do best in a quiet home where she has time to truly blossom. Her family described her as affectionate, playful, and friendly with family. She likes to hide in boxes and enjoys being pet. She lived successfully with a large dog and other cats. She loves toy balls and strings.

Here is what her foster mom says about her: She will let me hold her, but I think she prefers setting on the couch with me better. I have to invite her up on the couch. She seems to come out into the living room more when I am on the couch instead when I am in my chair. But last night she came out and got up on the couch when I was in my chair. I have boxes that work as steps in front of the couch. The more time I spend with scooter the friendlier she gets. She does like to be play with me and ribbons and a mouse. She does seem to like watching out the front window when she is on the couch.
