Sawyer Domestic Short Hair Wells, ME

Sawyer and his brother Friday, were trapped as stray kittens without a mother to be found. They were scared and hissy, as most feral kittens are and have required a lot of socializing to get them comfortable around our volunteers. They both come out of their cubbies to play with the other kittens in the room, with Sawyer leading the way to being socialized. Since he is pretty food motivated, we use treats to get him to eat out of our hands so we can pet him and that strategy works well to help build trust. These two kitties are bonded and must be adopted together to ensure a good transition into their new home. They are very healthy kitties and will do best in a quiet home, maybe with older children who will play with them but also show patience in their interactions. It usually takes semi-feral kitties, like these two are now, more time to adjust to new people and a new environment, but these young boys show great promise based on how far they have come at the shelter.
