Sapphire - *Adoption Fee Fully Sponsored*'s Story

My name is Sapphire, and I was born on March 20, 2024, as part of the Sparkle litter. I'm a stunning brown and gray tabby with bright eyes, soft fur, and a playful heart.

Energy and Personality
I'm full of curiosity and energy. I love to explore, chase toys, and "help" with chores in my own feline way. I was the first of my litter to climb out of the playpen, and that adventurous spirit is still alive and well. I love being around people and will follow you from room to room, sometimes adding zoomies for flair.

Training and Behavior
I'm family-trained, litter box perfect, and used to home life. I love playing with wand toys and lasers but prefer when you play with me instead of on my own. I'm still learning gentle play and improving every day with kind direction. I was recently adopted but returned because of a child's allergies. I did nothing wrong and am ready to try again with my forever family.

Social Life
I enjoy both people and other friendly cats. I love attention, affection, and shared playtime. When I'm not chasing toys, I'll curl up close by to keep you company.

Best Home Fit
Sapphire will thrive in a loving, interactive home where she gets time, play, and companionship. She's ready to be your loyal sidekick, best friend, and built-in entertainer all in one beautiful package.

Veterinary Care
Up to date on vaccinations for age
Microchipped
Flea and tick preventative
Worm/parasite treatments
Spayed

Operation Paws for Homes's Adoption Policy
Our organization provides pet adoption services to families located in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Southern Pennsylvania and neighboring states. We believe in responsible adoptions and strive to work with each adopter to find a good match for their home and lifestyle. Our adoption process includes completion of an application, a vet check, an interview, and a personal “meet and greet” where the family can meet and interact with their potential new four-legged family member. Throughout this process, we work to ensure each family and dog are the right fit for each other. We are fortunate to have some wonderful and active volunteers who help OPH find forever homes for over 1,000 dogs and cats a year. The key to that statement is - volunteer! Please remember that our organization is driven by caring individuals who give their personal time to help rescue these animals and provide them with the opportunity to find an amazing future! In addition to adoptions, volunteers carry out education and outreach events throughout the area, and conduct donation drives for our partner shelters in the south. Our goal is to offer a second chance to dogs and cats abandoned in shelters and out of time. Sadly, without our help, some of these adoptable animals would face almost certain euthanasia - sometimes within days of arriving at the shelter. Each year we rescue hundreds of wonderful dogs and cats. We work hard to unite them with forever families who will give them the life and love they deserve. These animals are saved only because of the dedication of our incredible adopters, fosters, donors, and volunteers.
