Meet Samuel Bernard

SAMUEL BERNARD is a very cute and sociable brown tabby male kitty with white highlights, about 11 years old. Also known as "Sam Sam", this affectionate and very talkative kitty has a strong personality and loves to engage with his humans. He can be bossy (especially when he's hungry), and he doesn't like to be separated from his people. He is an active guy who enjoys climbing and jumping, sitting on a window seat watching the outside world, and all kinds of cat toys.

This fellow lived in a cat colony before being rescued, and he has a dominant personality - he would do best as an only cat, where he can get all of his forever human's love, attention and patience. He loves being petted and will sit for a bit on your lap, but being picked up is not his favorite thing.

Sam Sam is an awesome kitty who only wants love, to be played with, and to be spoiled rotten. It would be best if his forever person is someone who is able to engage him daily with attention and regular snacks, and who is home often. He would enjoy the company of a mellow dog who doesn't mind cats checking out their food bowl. He has tested positive for FIV (the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but he is in excellent health and will likely have a normal lifespan as an indoor-only cat. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound - but Sam needs to be your one and only kitty. If your heart is ready to love a true lion king, Samuel Bernard is your guy!

He is neutered, tested negative for FeLV, microchipped, vaccinated, and includes a free wellness vet visit with our vet partners. To meet Samuel Bernard in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 days for a possible meet and greet. The $70 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1. ID#2012-C0849
