Meet Ruffina A-4467
Ruffina was rescued from a parking lot in Jackson off of I-94 at a hotspot for dumping Kitties. Somebody actively shoots the kitties that are around the property. This shy and sweet kitten is about 5 months old.
Ruffina is very sweet, but right now is a bit more withdrawn but not too much. She seeks attention and she's OK being held, but she does push away a little bit. She needs an adopter who understands that these changes are scary for her and she needs love and comfort.
**Suggestion: We typically recommend that when a shy kitty first goes home with you, they should be kept in a space where they can feel safe while getting used to the smells and sounds of their new home. A bedroom is the perfect example. Please spend lots of time with them so they can get to know you! This is the perfect time to give them treats, brush them, and play with toys such as wands and laser pointers. Once they have made themselves at home, feel free to open the door and let them explore the rest of their new home with you! This will set them up for success! Ask our adoption team for other ideas if you are unable to accommodate this type of space, or for more information about adopting our shy kitties.
*By adopting this kitty, it helps the SBZ Organization work on decreasing the over-abundance of kittens that end up homeless.
*Note: Because rescue cats do not come from breeders with specific backgrounds, the description is our best estimate of breed & is not guaranteed.
*SbZ requests that adopted kitties be taken to your private vet to be established right away as moving around can be stressful-even if it’s good stress- and cause reactions in their immune systems.
*If you have dogs and other kitties, please make sure to do a slow introduction so they can learn about each other.
