There is a saying that seems to permeate every rescue organization. It goes something like this; saving one cat won’t change the world, but for that one cat, the world will be forever changed. It looks good on t-shirts and on coffee cups, however when we rescued Ruby Tuesday, we were reminded how true that adage is.

There is no way of knowing how Ruby found herself on the streets. One thing is for certain, she did not know that she was supposed to be wary of the people she met. She would walk up to anyone, seeking nothing more than love and attention. Instead of finding the kindness and help she craved, people were amusing themselves by throwing firecrackers at her and kicking her when she approached them. It was like some twisted game they played only Ruby did not know the rules; that not all people are kind.

That is exactly what was happening when she was rescued. Ever trusting, Ruby let us scoop her right up and she was rushed to safety. She was given food, a soft bed and a place to recover. The behavior that followed shocked even us. Ruby did not gulp her food down nor hide in her litter box. She did not swat or cower when we reached out towards her. Instead, she laid down on her side and nudged our hands with her head so we would pet her.

Adopting Ruby will not change the world, but we promise you this, you will not want to imagine your world without Ruby Tuesday.

Adoption fees are $150/adult and $185/kitten. Adoption fee includes FeLV/FIV testing, FVRCP vaccine and booster, microchip, and flea and parasite treatment as necessary.

All kittens are spayed/neutered by JerseyCats prior to adoption if they are old enough, or after adoption. Spay/neuter is included in the adoption fee.
