Meet Romeo
Romeo is a vocal cat who will let you know when he’s overstimulated, or he hasn’t received enough love. He is a purring machine as you scratch his neck and near his tail, and he makes this adorable meep sound when touched. Sometimes when he calls out for you, he sounds like he is saying ‘ma-ma’! He will often search for you and want to be close by so that when he feels like asking for scratches, he doesn’t have to look too far. He loves chasing the elusive red dot, and will give an excited meow when he hears you pick up the laser. He is afraid of wand toys or anything that he fears may hit him, so chasing the laser dot is his fave and a great way to help him exercise!
Romeo loves to be brushed and cleaned with wipes, as he can’t clean himself thoroughly due to his large frame. He loves receiving attention (on his own terms) but does not like being picked up. Recently, he has shown himself to be a biscuit maker in training, as he uses all four paws to knead rather than the standard two-paw rhythm. A trademark, Romeo-esque move! Now that he is slowly trimming down, he has been able to roll on the floor and flip from side to side, something he was not able to do even just a few weeks ago! Keep up the good work, Romeo!!
Romeo will be shy at first and will require patience from his new family while he adjusts to his new home. He is easily spooked by loud noises and things or people moving around; but as soon as the people settle down, this loverboy will want to be right there, getting some well-deserved love to offset all that stress. He is also the best welcome at the door when you come home, and will make sure the first sight you see is his happily rolling belly, tempting you to pet him immediately.
Romeo would do best in a quiet and calm household with no children and no other pets, where his new guardians can patiently help him settle into his new home, and allow this timid and loving boy to truly shine.
