Meet Rio

Please read entire posting for information on our new procedures.

Hi everyone, Rio the adventure cat here! They call me a "cool cat" here at Second Chance because I get along with other cats and dogs! I love cuddles and exploring new places! I love to wear my harness and go outside!

I'm still learning how to walk on a harness though! If you take me home please have a stash of toys for me as I love to play with them!

I am not an aggressive or mean cat, but I can get overexcited and bite and scratch. I know that is not OK but I am young and have a lot of energy - I'm learning that is not okay to do! My people at the shelter say I would be great with someone who likes a cat with a big personality, will exercise me and has some cat savvy.

I would also make someone a very nice barn cat as long as my barn is warm safe and I still get to see people now and then.

Please let us know if you are looking for a barn or outside cat. We do occasionally get outdoor cats needing homes, most in our general population will not do well in outdoor living.

If you would like to visit one our amazing cats, please review the policies below, complete an online application www.adoptmountainpets.org and give us call if you have any questions. 970 626 2273

Adopters will be considered on the totality of the application and how it matches the particular pet's needs.

All cats must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.

Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.
