Meet Rhatima, Queen Rainey

Rhatima was saved by Dr. West after her family wanted to have her euthanized. They said a lot of things that were untrue about her. They thought she was a boy (she is a girl). They said she weighed 25 pounds (she only weighed 14 and she is losing weight). They said she wouldn't use her litter pan (what they failed to mention is that she hid out in a bedroom and they refused to provide a litter pan for her in that room). Rhatima faithfully uses her litter pan now that she is in foster care with us. She is a gentle girl who loves to be held and was very depressed at losing the little girl in her life who was her only friend. We are so glad we got her out of that situation. She is now blossoming. She has spent several weeks hanging out in the bathroom cupboard, adjusting to her situation. But now she is coming out, playing, and hanging on the cat tree. She loves people and she loves other cats (especially our greeter kittens, Bean Bag and Apple Seed). She purrs as soon as you touch her. She loves to just sit in your lap and be brushed or petted. She will sit in your lap until you put her down. She loves to be held. She would be super in a quiet household where she could take her time, hang out in a cupboard, and come out when she felt safe. She has been through a lot and without Dr. West's intervention, she would now be dead. She certainly did not deserve that, because she is wonderful. Rhatima is about 9 years old. She is an older lady. Sadly, she had been with her family for 9 years and she did love the little girl in the house. So it is a big adjustment for her being away from them. But it has been good for her. She is really a lover and we love her. Rhatima is fixed, vaccinated, and tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV. She is also microchipped. If you are willing to give Rhatima the home she deserves and allow her to adjust at her own pace, please go to our web site, www.bandocats.org and download an application under "How you can help" and "Adopt." Once you have filled out the application, send it back to us via email or fax it to 614-873-0972. Rhatima truly deserves a second chance at a happy life.
