Ralph’s FAQs

What is Franklin County Animal Rescue’s adoption process?

We have an online adoption questionnaire to match you with your new best friend and to make the time you are in the shelter more about making that first connect than paperwork! We ask our adopters to welcome a new family member by being ready to do the below actions *To be the primary caretaker of this animal and will not sell, adopt or give said animal to another party, I will notify FCAR if the animal becomes lost or stolen or if my contact information/ address changes. *To provide, at my own expense: adequate food, water, shelter, medical care, exercise, licensing and vaccinations in accordance with Vermont state laws. *To not allow the animal outdoors without proper supervision, leash or harness and will adhere to all Vermont State Laws. *To care for my new pet in a humane and patient manner and notify FCAR, or my veterinarian, immediately for guidance if my pet is showing issues of any kind. *I understand all adoptions are final and that there are no refunds. *To do my due diligence to work through any issues. If it becomes necessary to return the animal I will immediately notify FCAR. I understand I must make an appointment and pay a surrender fee.
