Quito's Story

About Me

Hi, I'm Quito — a young mama cat with a lot to say and even more love to give. I came from a local reservation with my six babies in tow, and when I first arrived in foster care, I was very skinny, very hungry, and pretty unsure about this whole “living in a house” thing. But now? I'm settling in beautifully, putting on healthy weight, and discovering that indoor life is actually pretty wonderful.

I'm a surprisingly low-energy girl for my age. My favorite hobbies include lounging in the windowsill watching the backyard, supervising my kittens from up high, and following my people around the house. I absolutely adore being carried — seriously, I've made it my signature move. My foster mom says she's never met a cat who loves being held as much as I do! At mealtimes, she carries me and my bowl to a high windowsill where I happily eat my wet food while perched on her shoulder like the queen I am.

I'm also very chatty and love to chirp, trill, and tell you all about my day the second you walk through the door. If you're looking for a cat who will greet you like you're the most important person in the world, I'm your girl. I love attention, companionship, and just being near my people.

I'm still learning some house-cat basics, like what's okay to scratch, but I'm catching on quickly. I'll do best with a very high-sided litter box and sensitive stomach/gastroenteric food to help keep me feeling my best.

I'm good with kids, full of sweet personality, and ready to trade my days of survival for a forever home filled with love, cozy windowsills, and people to carry me from room to room.

WHERE IS THIS PET LOCATED? The Rescue Crew's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet through The Rescue Crew! Your desire to provide a loving forever home to a rescued animal helps us in our shared goal to “Save a Life Today.” We are a completely volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, which means all of our animals live in home environments—not kennels—while they await adoption. This allows us to learn as much as possible about each pet’s personality, preferences, and needs so we can help make the best possible match for both the animal and the adopter. Our adoption process may take a little time, and you might notice we ask a lot of questions. That’s because we want to ensure a lasting and happy match for everyone involved. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers—these questions simply help us guide you toward the pet who will fit best with your family, lifestyle, and expectations. Many of the animals who come into our care have faced hardship, uncertainty, or even the risk of euthanasia. Our mission is to give them a second chance—and to place them in loving, responsible, lifelong homes where they can finally feel safe and secure. If you see an animal you’re interested in, please submit an application through our website at www.rescuecrew.org/adoption-basics as soon as possible. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it will help ensure your place in line for that animal—or another pet who might be a perfect match. Thank you for choosing adoption and for helping us continue our lifesaving work. Together, we’re giving hope and homes to animals who need them most.
