Pumpkin and Pikachu are a sweet, affectionate bonded pair looking for their forever home!

Pumpkin (male, 6 years old) is a loving, outgoing boy whose favorite thing is to curl up in his human’s lap with his reverberant purr. He is confident meeting strangers and loves getting pets from everyone. He adjusted quickly to his foster home and is a generally very content soul.

Pikachu (female, 5 years old) is a sweet girl who loves to curl up with Pumpkin for naps. She also likes to curl up with her foster or walk back and forth to get lots of pets. She took a little longer to venture forth into her foster home, as she is a little more guarded, but she has since become a happy, well-adjusted cat and she is much more courageous with strangers than she used to be. Pikachu has a skin condition in her inner ears that requires a drop of medication in each ear twice per week. This is a lifelong condition, but over her months in foster care it appears that the current medication regimen is working very well. She will need some follow-up on this to monitor her response, but so far so good!

Pikachu also has the virus that causes “kitty colds,” so she is a little prone to getting the sniffles when she is feeling stressed, but this has been managed well with keeping her stress levels down and some occasional lysine as a food treat.

Both of these sweeties love to play, especially before or after dinnertime, and like to check new things out. They play independently some, but most of all love interactive play with their human. They also love their food, which they get twice per day. Both will affectionately knead their foster mom, and greet her at the door when she comes home from work. They are moderately vocal, especially liking to remind their foster mom when it is time to be fed, and like to chat when they have the evening zoomies. During the day, they love to curl up and sleep together in one big orange and white ball of fur. Other times of the day, they like to be near their foster, just observing or helping her out by sitting on her lap on top of whatever she’s doing.

They are a fully bonded pair, frequently sleeping together and grooming each other, sometimes engaging in a friendly tussle or chasing each other around the house when their energy levels are higher in the mornings and evenings.

Pumpkin and Pikachu’s ideal home would be one in which they can get lots of human contact and love from their human family, enrichment with interactive play, plenty of room to run and chase each other (Pikachu especially loves stairs!), and a good window to spy out of. Pikachu will need some dedication to making sure she gets her ear medication and keeping her skin condition monitored with vet visits as needed.

P and P are currently living in a foster home without other pets or children, so it is unknown how they would do with other cats or dogs. Pikachu may get anxious with very young kids, but they both have interacted very well with other adults and older children.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
