-Can Live with Cats: Pumpkin was able to coexist with a cat in her previous home although she didn't particularly enjoy it. She may be able to to live with another mellow, laidback male cat after a slow introductory period, although she'd probably prefer to be an only child.
-Can Live with Dogs: Pumpkin "tolerated" the dog in her previous home and would likely be okay living with another one after a slow, supervised intro.
-Can Live with Kids: Pumpkin was overwhelmed by the grandkids in her previous home and does not enjoy young children. She may be okay with older, respectful, cat-savvy kids who can respect her space. At this time we're recommending no kids under 12 yrs of age
-Needs Indoor Only Home: No, Pumpkin was indoor/outdoor in her previous home
-History of Litter Box Issues: No
-Energy Level: Low/med

Additional Information: Pumpkin is a very sweet kitty who's a little on the independent side. She enjoys rolling in catnip and swishing between your legs. Pumpkin would be a great match for a quieter home where she can bask in the sunshine and hangout with her human while they read or watch TV. Pumpkin came to us with a heavily infected left ear and received treatment, but the symptoms were recurrent. Under sedation, WHS veterinary staff was able to determine Pumpkin has a growth in her ear canal which will need a specialized surgery to remove. Without this surgery, Pumpkin is likely to experience chronic ear infections and if the mass grows further, may experience other complications. Unfortunately, our shelter clinic is not equipped to perform this specialized procedure and Pumpkin's future adopter should be prepared to address this with their private veterinarian, which is an expensive prospect.
