This beautiful pair, PUKA and RAJAH, are seeking a purrfect forever home. They were surrendered by their owners who moved out of state and could no longer care for them. RAJAH is a silver-and-black-striped tabby boy who is as sweet as can be, a little over a year old. He just loves to be loved, especially being petted and brushed. Rajah will also curl up right on your chest or by you to take a nap. He and Puka will both come to greet you at the end of the day and ask for pets. Not only is Rajah affectionate, he's also a skilled hunter. He'll pounce on any toy that moves: feathers, springs, balls, and toy mice. There are unique bone spurs on Rajah's back feet that can be felt under his skin. They don't cause him any discomfort and just add to his charm. His companion PUKA is a luxurious beauty with black patches over both eyes. She's a few months younger than Rajah. Puka can be shy around new people and surroundings at first and is much more comfortable when Rajah is by her side. Once she is comfortable with you, she enjoys being petted, but prefers to come to you. Puka likes to hang out on top of the cat tree or in the window, and sometimes on top of one of the scratcher pads. During nap time the pair enjoys laying on the highest spot in the cat tree, or they curl up together somewhere cozy or with their foster mom. Puka loves to play with her friend, and their favorite toy is the feather wand, which they chase and pounce with wild abandon. Puka and Rajah like to hide under furniture to play sneak attack but they come out right away when their foster mom calls them. Puka also has a fascination with box fans--she may find the sound soothing. Both cats take a bit of time to warm up to new situations. It is really important for them to have someplace to hide, especially at first. Once they are comfy, they lounge around and play out in the open, but they do like to have their hidey spot to retreat to when they hear loud noises like the garbage truck. Puka and Rajah are intensely bonded to each other and will fill your home and heart with love.
They are altered, microchipped, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV and FIV and include a free wellness vet visit with our vet partners. To meet Puka & Rajah in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 days for a possible meet and greet. The adoption fee for the bonded pair is $260, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
