Meet Promise
DOB: 07/22/22
Little Promise began her life's journey outside of a nursing home parking lot in Van Nuys. When Promise was about 4 months old, an older man living at the nursing home coaxed her into a cardboard box & gave her to an employee in hopes of giving her a better life. Unfortunately, the employee took her directly to the shelter. The shelter kept Promise locked up for over two months in the feral cat room with no human interaction except for feeding time. The shelter also never addressed an eye injury Promise had, which meant not only was she isolated, but most likely suffering. Thankfully, Kitten Rescue stepped in and was gracious enough to get Promise out of the shelter and immediately to a vet. Unfortunately, the eye was too damaged to be saved, and had to be removed.
Currently Promise is in foster care with several other kitties that she easily gets along with and just wants to fit in. Even with one eye, she can jump and climb on cat trees and play like a normal kitty. She is very playful and can easily entertain herself for hours tossing her little mouse toys up in the air and catching them. We are really hoping that she can find a great home with a nice kitty that she can bond with, along with a human companion. She's a little timid at first, but will still start purring and wag her tail when she is approached. She will also come to you when you call her and head-butt your hand and seek pets. She will sit on your lap if you pick her up and put her there and even fall asleep. She is getting more confident every day and has so much potential, even after being isolated for so long. She promises to enrich your life with joy, playfulness, and most importantly Love!... And that is Promise's promise!
