Prince's Story

Meet the Prince of Astoria! Prince is 5 years old but don’t be fooled—he is a playful boy once you get him in the mood and thinks humans are his cat playmates. Prince has to show you how much he loves you or assert his boundaries, He will need an experienced adopter who will love and understand him because he actually is the sweetest, chillest little guy. Like a true prince, he loves to lounge around his palace, nap near you, and follow his favorite servant around, so if he follows you around, you’re it! Prince’s favorite toys are feather wand toys, catnip mice, balls, and especially kicker toys. He will bunny kick toys like there’s no tomorrow! He can also be a couch potato and loves watching cat TV. He doesn’t cause much trouble but loves having a cardboard throne to sit on (and destroy?)—just like true royalty. ? Save Kitty Foundation's Adoption Policy

Potential adopters complete an online application. All applications are then reviewed and potential candidates are contacted for a phone interview/conversation to ask/answer questions, determine if the cat is a good match for their home/family, and then discuss next steps. If both sides want to move forward, we ask for a video tour of the home and also any relevant medical records for their resident cat. Additional conversations often follow - suggestions for addressing potential hazards in the home (e.g. poisonous plant). If everything checks out with those two items, the adoption is approved and adopter is given information on supplies to purchase.
