Meet Pompompurin! Pompom is about 9 years old, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations! He is looking for a quiet home to retire in, where he gets all the wet food and pets he wants.

Pompom was brought to our facility after his owner unfortunately passed away. It was an extremely difficult transition for him; grieving his owner and coming into an unfamiliar place really took its toll on him. While his sister slowly came around to staff after a couple weeks, it was a much longer process for Pompom. He was so angry, but staff could see that it was just a front. In the moments where he let down his guard, he was the sweetest, most affectionate cat.

After much trial and error, we realized that in order for Pompom to be comfortable here at the shelter, he needed a place he could call his own. So, we decided to temporarily convert our small animal room into his own personal bedroom. Thankfully, this seemed to be exactly what he needed. As soon as he was comfortable in his own space, he didn't feel the need to be so defensive anymore. Now he loves to watch the coming and going of people through his door, and to chirp at staff for treats. He loves to rub up on your legs, and knock your phone out of your hand if he feels you are not giving him the attention he deserves. He is really starting to come out of his shell and show everyone how much love he has to give.

Unfortunately, we do not have a lot of background information on Pompompurin. We know that he lived with his sister, Keroppi, and they did well together. We're not sure how he would do with a different cat, or with dogs. We do offer a seven-day foster period with every adoption to ensure it's a good fit for everyone.
