Meet PJ

PJ is a 2-year-old, friendly cat looking for his forever home!

PJ has a loud purr that gets even louder when he’s happy and excited. He enjoys chin scratches and, while he’s not a lap cat and doesn’t need close snuggles, he likes to be around people and hang out nearby. PJ is nervous around other cats, so it would be best if he’s the only pet in your home.

PJ is a food-motivated cat who enjoys Clicker, Go-to-Mat, and sequence-type training. He loves to chase anything that rolls, especially kibble or treats tossed down the hallway, and he likes to jump and wrestle with wand toys. He also likes batting at and knocking toys under doors and exploring cat tunnels. He loves long naps on a window perch, cat tree, or soft bed.

PJ likes to explore the house and jumps up on high cat trees and other multi-level three-dimensional spaces to observe his surroundings. He enjoys “hunting” for kibble via interactive food puzzles and in secret nooks and crannies. PJ likes routines and takes a morning nap and an afternoon nap. PJ sometimes gets the “zoomies” in the morning and evening, so regular, spirited play sessions with jumping after a wand toy or chasing kibble help him get the wiggles out.

PJ is currently living with two adults and one resident cat in a home. Since the cat makes him nervous, PJ is on daily anxiety medicine which he takes easily with a pill pocket. He can transition off his medication once he is in his new home without other pets.

PJ’s ideal home is one without any other pets or children, as loud unexpected noises startle him. He would love a quiet home where he can be the center of attention so he can play, look out windows, and relax and nap in sunny spots. PJ would love to have a sanctuary room so he can feel safe and comfortable as he gets used to his new home.

A kind owner who can help reassure PJ and help him transition to his new home would be helpful. He thrives with encouragement, praise, and kind
words.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate.
