Meet Piper

Piper is a 1-year-old, friendly cat looking for his forever home!

Piper has been through a great deal. He came to Pet Haven with his three siblings as an abandoned and unsocialized cat who was terrified of everything and everyone. He's spent several months learning that he's safe, and now he's really coming out of his shell! He is still skittish and darts for cover when startled, but he'll bravely come out and investigate a few minutes later. He's come so far! Piper will likely take a while to warm up to his new home, and will need a family who can give him patience and space to gain his confidence.

Once he's comfortable, Piper is a very social kitty. He adores both his siblings and the other cats in the house. Instead of meowing, he communicates with his humans by squeaking. He is very expressive!

Piper is very playful and loves to tumble around with the other cats in the house. He is also a big fan of ball track toys, laser pointers, and wand toys. Piper is an expert at relaxation. While he rarely cuddles on laps, he likes to spend time near humans, whether next to them on the couch or in a comfy bed where he can keep an eye on them. Sunbeams and windows are another favorite, and he frequently watches the rabbits in the yard with rapt attention.

Piper loves to run down hallways, up and down stairs, and bound to the top of the cat tree in the blink of an eye! He needs enough space to use as a racetrack when he gets his zoomies, and wants to have high places to watch over his domain. When is time to chill out, he likes to lounge in the giant bed under the armchair where it's nice and cozy, or the bed in the window when the sun is out. But if the humans are doing something, he takes his responsibility to supervise very seriously and keeps close to them, squeaking his opinions on everything.

Piper currently lives in a 3-bedroom house with his foster mom, three resident cats, three siblings, and two foster kittens. He has free run of the house except for the kitten room.

Piper still has some anxiety to overcome. He needs a quiet home without children or dogs. His new family should also be able to respect his need for space and give him time to become comfortable in his new home. He also needs another friendly cat in the home, and slow intros should be used to get them comfortable with each other.

Piper is healthy with no known medical needs. It is highly recommended that the new owner be very familiar with cats and their body language to make the transition smoother for everyone.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate.

Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
