PHOEBE - WOBBLY CAT!!! Siamese Mix Lincoln, NE

We first met Phoebe a few months back when she was scheduled to be immediately euthanized at a shelter south of here. That was a scary day for sweet Pheebs, who at just 9 months old had only knew the family that surrendered her that day. They thought she was blind, and she was experiencing signs of what we believed to be head trauma or neurological disorder. Once she arrived here in the beat lab, we began immediately vetting the girl to try to determine the cause of her troubles, and it turns out the Pheebs is yet another perfectly imperfect Remix kitty. She has a condition known as cerebellar hypoplasia- commonly referred to as “Wobbly Cat Syndrome.” It is not contagious or progressive in any way, nor will this condition shorten her life. She’s just got a little of that Phil Collins in her. She can dance. She can talk. Only thing about her is the way she walks. And now that she’s diagnosed and fully vetted, Pheebs is looking for the forever home that is patient enough to work with her and her weeble wobbles. Her care will require just a few things different than your typical cat, such as a large litter box, elevated dishes to help her reach food and water, maybe some rugs on the floor to help with traction? Perhaps a baby gate to keep her away from stairs? They’re small concessions to make for a kitty that will, without a doubt, repay your kindness in spades. Phoebe is so sweet and affectionate and thrilled to be just about anywhere- as long as her person is near.
