Phantom is a friendly, chatting and outgoing cat who is about 3-4 years old. Phantom had some medical issues when she first arrived which included a complicated spay and mass on her tail. Our amazing vets removed the mass, and most of her tail which now is a cute little stump, and she's recovered and ready for a forever home. <br/><br/>Phantoms mass was rare in cats so there isn't much research that isn't related to dogs. While statistics mention a potential shorter lifespan, is often less likely for cats who had complete surgical removal. These tumors rarely spread to other organs (metastasis). The main concern is "local recurrence"—the tumor growing back in the same spot. The highest risk for it coming back is within the first year.
