Meet Petey the Pooping Cat

We are a rescue that believes in full disclosure, so what you just read is correct - Petey is a Pooping Cat. Our rescue helps terminally ill people find homes for their pets, and Petey came to us after his beloved owner went into a nursing home. Petey always pees in his box, but he is an adventurous pooper and often chooses unique locations to poop (such as the top of the cat tree). We have spent months and over a thousand dollars at our veterinarian ruling out any medical causes, so we believe he may have PTSD over the loss of is owner, and we have recently started him on Prozac. We have also tried a multitude of litter box sizes and shapes and litter types. He is chilling out with a pheremone plug-in and special relaxing music for cats.

We get it - no one wants a cat that poops randomly, right? But we thought maybe someone out there has some unique living situation or arrangement that can accommodate him. We are open to ideas for his adoption! Maybe you have a hobby farm and are looking for a loyal, loving cat? Maybe you have a heated barn and want a farm buddy?

Now if you got this far, you are thinking why would I want this cat? Apart from the pooping, he is simply an AMAZING cat. LOVES people - purrs almost instantly and constantly with the attention of people. He loves laps and adores you. He even prefers to eat in the company of people. He is famous for rolling on his back and showing off his belly, as the photo shows, and gets involved in a little play fighting while you try to pet his belly. He sometimes even reaches his paw right up to me, as if he just can't get close enough. Though he hasn't lived with other cats, he appears curious about them and likes to sniff them. We want to give Petey a great rest of his life where he can be just as loved as he was with his owner.

Fixed, front declawed Petey is a picture of health - he had x-rays, ultrasounds, full blood work, microchipped, and vaccinated.

We understand this is a unique situation, but we also want to give Petey an opportunity to live and be loved. Please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com with your adoption ideas or questions or comments.
