Meet Penny

Meet Penny, a tough mama cat who is done taking care of babies and living on the street! She is approximately 5 years old.

She was found living in an auto shop with her five kittens late last year. She took incredible care of them, and now that they’ve been adopted she’s ready for a home of her own.

This beautiful torbie is shy and nervous around new people, so she needs a cat-savvy home where she can settle in at her own pace. In foster care, she has warmed up with time and gentle TLC, but Penny may always prefer a more “hands-off” relationship with her humans. She particularly resists being picked up.

When Penny’s comfortable though, she loves prancing around the room purring, giving head butts, and kneading constantly. She also enjoys playing with string toys and scratching on her scratching post. She loves other cats and may thrive in a home with a confident feline friend to teach her all about the good life.

In the right home, she will continue to build trust and let down her guard.

What Penny’s looking for in a home:
- She is new to indoor life with humans, so she needs a kind and patient guide to help her continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers make her very nervous, and she will need to be kept in a confined space until she feels comfortable in her new home.
- She’ll need extra time and TLC to build trust.
- She needs to live indoors only.
- She has a positive history with other cats and may like having a feline friend close to her age.
- She has no known history with dogs.
- She has no known history with children.

All Alley Cat Projects cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Thank you for your interest in adopting Penny! If your household fits the above criteria and has experience with shy cats, you can apply to adopt her by filling out this questionnaire: https://bit.ly/ACPAdoptionForm
