Penelope Domestic Short Hair & Dilute Tortoiseshell Mix Sayreville, NJ

This pretty little lady is Penelope. She is a petite girl who is the size of a kitten but is said to be around 3 and a half years old. She was rescued from a shelter, where she had been waiting since April. One of our volunteers thought she was too sweet and too cute to stay there so they took her home to foster and find her a home. She is very lucky to have been rescued as when we took her to be spayed she was on the verge of Pyrometria a severe uterine infection that could have killed her if gone untreated much longer. She is now on the mend. She is very friendly, is ok being picked up and loves attention. She is a little bossy around other cats and would prefer being the only feline in the home. We aren't sure if she is good with dogs. Older kids should be fine. Penelope is combo tested and is positive for FIV. FIV positive cats can live normal lifespans and do not need any special treatment. A good diet and annual vet care is what is needed, as with any pet. FIV is a virus that can compromise the immune system. FIV is not able to be transmitted to dogs or people and they can live with other cats as long as they are properly introduced and get along. Penelope is littertrained.

To adopt Penelope is $140.00 which includes her spay, vaccinations, combo test for FIV/FeLV, microchip and collar.
