Meet Pen
INTRODUCING...PEN!!!
Pen is a 1 year old blue Persian. He is fully vetted (neutered, fiv/felv negative, vaccinated, microchipped, etc) and is ready for his forever home.
Sadly, Pen has been diagnosed with moderate to severe cardiomyopathy (echocardiogram was done). He has a limited life expectancy - 6 to 9 months is realistic. It could be 2 to 3 years. There's just no way to know.
Pen will need echocardiograms every six months to monitor his condition. This costs about $500 (if done with the traveling ultrasound service - it'll cost more if you go directly to a cardiologist). He is on Atenolol twice a day - a bottle costs ~$40 & lasts for over six months. He is really easy to medicate. ?
When Pen first got here, he had just been neutered. He did not get along very well with the other cats. But he has adjusted very well & now gets along with other cats. He is cool with the dogs too.
We are not asking for an adoption fee for Pen. But you must be financially able to cover all of his medical and veterinary needs.
If you are interested in adopting Pen - and can afford to properly care for him - please submit an adoption application through our website at www.stxpr.org.
