Patches (and Posie) Domestic Short Hair Mix Brantford, ON

Meet Patches! She joined us with Posie in January after being at a local animal control since September. 2022 They had a euthanasia date scheduled and we were asked if we could take them. We were able to say yes!

Patches and Posie’s person went to hospital and passed away there. The family brought the girls in and didn’t know their names. So we gifted them some names as sweet as they are.

Patches is 12 years old, and obese. She had difficulty walking more than a couple steps and she couldn't groom herself which led to a lot of matts. Her back was shaved to give her a fresh start and her fur is starting to grow back in. She is on a slow and safe weight loss plan and has been doing great! She can now climb pet stairs and even the main staircase in her foster home with encouragement. All of the weight has put a lot of pressure on her joints. She is on a monthly pain medication for arthritis, the cost is approx $70 per month. 

These sweet girls have spent their lives together and will need to be adopted together. Patches is a purr monster and adores having While Posie and Patches came from the same home and do get along for the most part, it's rare that they interact. They can be adopted together or separately as they are not bonded. (We would never separate a bonded pair!)

Patches is a purr monster and adores having a snooze in your lap. She also likes playing with wand toys. She likes to chat and be near you. Patches tolerates the cats and well behaved dog in her foster home. We feel she could be in a home with other animals as long as those pets are calm and not pushy.
