PANDORA's Story

Happy Fall! The calendar might say we are in the "ber" months, but the temperatures are still warm! That means we are still struggling through kitten season. We desperately need to make room to get Moms, kittens and other cats in and fixed before the cold comes. Please consider adopting! And tell your friend to adopt too! We still have lots of kittens and some of our older cats have been here awhile, so there is a cat for everyone!! Remember,
adopting saves TWO cats lives! Adopting one cat will free up a cage so we can help another. Together we can make countless more cats & kittens lives better. Win! Win! The kitties thank you too!

This is Pandora!
Pandora is domestic short haired black & white tuxedo, spayed female, up to date on her shots, around 10 years old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Highland Northwest Indiana.

I can't believe I'm 10 years old and in a cage at the shelter..again. I was adopted but my person couldn't care for me anymore so I'm back at the shelter. I always had a home and I was a good girl that just wanted love and to be pet, but my person passed away and their family didn't want to keep me, so here I am. I don't like being at the shelter and I really need to get out of here and get back into a real home. I'm kinda mad I'm here and sad I lost my person. I'm also stressed- I'm older and this is a crazy environment and feel like no one wants me anymore . The people at the shelter tell me not to worry and that I'll get a home, but I'm having doubts. I try to be patient, but it's hard to be because I just want a real home, again. I miss my person but I know they would want me to have a new person that loves me again. A new home is all I need and I promise I'll be the best kitty ever!
I'm in a cage at the shelter and I don't want to be here. If you'll give me a home, I will probably be a little shy when you take me home, but I'll come around as soon as I feel safe again. Not sure how I would be with kids or dogs, probably not well. I'm older and I need a quiet house like had before to feel safe.
I will let a few people pet me and I loooooove to get pets but those people arent there all the time. I just want one ( or a few) people to bond with.
If you're looking to help an older kitty, please consider giving me a home so I can forget this part of my life. I can't wait to start this new chapter of my life with someone who loves me again.

Please call 219-922-1766 and leave a message to meet Pandora! Poor Pandora is shutting down in the shelter and really needs to find a home quick. We really think once she gets a home, she will be a sweet kitty again. The shelter environment isn't for her and she is only here because her person passed away. Please consider her, she deserves to have a happy life again. Applications can be found online at TreasuredFriendsRescue.org or follow the link from our profile at Petfinder (scroll down to the bottom of the main page for the link).

****************************************
Griffith Animal Control, in partnership with Treasured Friends Animal Rescue believes in giving kitties that others wouldn't normally get a chance at getting a forever home, a chance! Our fosters & volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to get them used to being pet and to show them no one will hurt them. However, when they go to a new home, some kitties will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months. Please, only apply if you are an experienced cat owner and have patience.
Thank you!
