Meet Paisley

Paisley is our little three-legged wonder! Unfortunately, this tiny girl had suffered some significant trauma before she was found; she had a broken right rear leg, cat lice, a mouth injury, some broken teeth and was ill with an upper respiratory infection. Her leg was beyond repair, and the best course of action was to amputate it. The vets estimate her to be about 8 years old, and she's coping with being a tripod kitty very well for her age. She can still jump up and down from short surfaces, but we would recommend her be placed in a home with carpeted stairs or no access to stairs at all (she currently resides in a home with a spiral staircase and she doesn't attempt to climb it at all). Paisley is a quiet, chill cat and she mostly just goes from comfy spot to comfy spot in her foster home to take naps. She is a little head shy (likely from whatever trauma she sustained), but enjoys gentle petting if you don't come at her too quickly. Once you find that "right spot", she'll start purring in contentment. Obviously, due to her reduced mobility, she should not be placed in a household with animals who will try to play with her or chase her. However she does not mind the company of other cats as long as they leave her be. She doesn't really care for dogs, but could maybe share a home with a very calm, well-mannered pooch that would not get in her space. Keep in mind - she can't move too quickly or jump too high, so she really needs a safe space where she can escape to whenever she is stressed. For this reason, she would likely not do well in a home with young children, but older kids who will let her be should be fine. Paisley is desperately hoping someone with give her a forever home even though she isn't the youngest or the most social cat out there. We can't imagine what she's been through and we want nothing more than to find a patient, loving family for her. She deserves that much.
