His owner couldn’t afford veterinary care at the time and so it was left to heal on its own. Ozzy walked on his knee and was clearly uncomfortable for him and causing him arthritis in his back and hips. Our veterinarians agreed that the leg must be amputated. It could be repaired because the injury was two years old. Ozzy is now a few weeks post-op and ready for a forever family. His leg was amputated at the knee and he does have a stub. He gets around fine, but his ideal home would be one with minimal stairs.

Meet Ozzy
Handsome, sweet Ozzy came to HHR when his owner fell on hard times. Unfortunately, he suffered an accident two years ago that left him with a broken leg. His owner couldn’t afford veterinary care at the time and so it was left to heal on its own. Ozzy walked on his knee and was clearly uncomfortable for him and causing him arthritis in his back and hips.

Ozzy is about 9 years old. He neutered, vaccinated, and feline leukemia/AIDS negative. He recently had blood work (prior to amputation surgery) and all was well. To meet Ozzy, please visit our website www.HalfwayHomeRescue.org and complete an adoption application. Adoption donation is $200.
