Meet Opal

Introducing Opal!

This pretty little gal come into a spay/neuter clinic we were volunteering at with her sister, Doodad. We weren't sure if they were friendly or feral, but they had a mild upper respiratory infection and we knew we could at least provide them with a safe place to recover. Once they came in, we had a feeling they would grow to be little sweeties, and we weren't wrong!

It may have taken Opal and Doodad some time to trust us, but after they were split up, each of their true colors shined! Opal is such a little beauty queen with a black, shiny, soft coat. She looks so similar to her sister except she has short hair. Opal can be shy at first and takes some time to warm up to people. Once she warms up, she is a total lover and craves attention! She loves hearing "pretty girl!" and will come out of any hiding space she's in to see you when she hears that. She loves to lick from the faucet when it's off, hoping to get any of the fresh water drips. Opal is the queen of rubbing on other kitties. She does really well with her foster siblings in the cat colony room but does take time to adjust to any newbies that are brought in. Opal is still an energetic girl who loves to play with toys and is very inquisitive. She loves a nice soft place to take naps and when she's awake, she can't wait to get lots and lots of gentle pets from her human. Opal used to love bite but has since stopped the behavior now that she is fully comfortable. This girl truly is a special one and is so cute and lovable. She needs someone who is willing to give her time to adjust in a new home and be patient with her. She is worth it, we promise! We believe she would do best in a home with another cat, perhaps a foster sibling, or a house with a resident cat already. We don't know how she would do with a dog, but she may be able to adjust to a home with an older, calm dog who doesn't mind her existence. We think kids may be too much for her, given her history of love biting!

Opal is approximately a year old, spayed, FIV/FELV tested negative, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea treated. She did have an ear infection at one point, but has since been treated and cleared for it. If this little sassy sweetie sounds like the girlie for you, apply for her today!
