Additional Information: We are overjoyed to introduce you to one-of-a-kind Ollie!
Ollie is a very sweet, super chill and incredibly handsome cat. He is shy at first, and he will need some time to adjust to his new environment. Once Ollie feels comfortable, he'll have you scratching and petting his fluffy face until you've both had enough. Ollie is pretty independent, which is important, because he is FIV+ and needs to be the only cat in the household. But he's also a pro snuggler and once he's come out of his shell, wants to be a lap cat and get all the love.
Ollie doesn't let his FIV status keep him from doing things like playing video games, trading stocks, rebuilding the engine of a vintage car, and taking a lot of naps. Ollie is looking for a quiet home and a patient adopter who will give him time to adjust to his new life and let Ollie be Ollie! Will you let this handsome gent give you all the snuggles? Apply now.
If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Cat specific: Rabies, FVRCP, Feline Leukemia vaccines. They are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a negative mother in foster care.
Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
