Bio: Oakland (grey tabby boy) is the personal assistant you never knew you needed! His skills include doing the laundry (laying on your clean clothes), vacuuming (bravely supervising the Roomba for you), cooking (winding around your legs asking for food when you're in the kitchen), support in high-level decision-making (purring in your lap while you work), and personal security (guarding the bathroom door). He can take a little while to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you he will find ways to always be next to you...with short breaks for naps in the sun, of course. This guy loves to play, whether that's chasing his teaser toys with no restraint, playing tag or play wrestling with his sister, or attacking his crochet mouse. Once he's done playing, he loves nothing more than cuddling on your lap and watching TV while getting scratched behind his ears.
Orlando (black female) is the more reserved of the two, but don't let that fool you into thinking she isn't watching everything that happens around her. She is a tactician at heart and when she plays she likes to observe first, carefully calculating the optimal time to pounce to achieve the best results (she will catch teaser toys whether you want her to or not). She figures out how to use her environment for leverage (quickly figuring out which rugs give the most traction when she pulls at stretchy toys), and she can't be tricked by hiding toys. She is easily startled and usually prefers watching people from a distance, but that doesn't mean she isn't engaged. She likes physical touch on her own terms: she will sometimes approach and lick your hand or put a paw on you, but she is still wary of being pet. She will willingly come close to people for food, treats, or feather toys, and she really shows her playful side with her brother, happily racing around the house. When she isn't stalking a toy, you can often find her curled up in dark, quiet corners.
Both of these kittens are shy at first and take a little while to warm up to new people and environments, but it is well worth it once they do!
The adoption fee is $250 for a bonded pair. All cats are up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
