Niles was a stray in Eldora, Iowa. A kind family fed him all summer long. They decided to get him help before winter so he is now a Waverly Pet Rescue kitty. He is living in a foster home. Niles is now up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and neutered.

Niles is about 2-1/2-years old as of November 2019. Niles is a big cat with a huge personalty. He is very friendly, confident, and sure of himself. Niles is also a big lover boy and will soak up all the attention he can get. He is a talker and let's you know what he thinks. Especially when it is time to eat. Niles loves to be petted and would let you do that all day if you had time. He enjoys being where you are and if you leave a room, he will follow. The family that fed him said he is awesome with children, even toddler aged twins. He let the kids pet him and carry him around. Niles was so patient with all the children. He has not been around dogs so we do not know how he would be around dogs. We have not tried to introduce him to other cats yet but will update this profile once we do. He did briefly meet a few other foster cats and hissed at them but he in a pet taxi and was just new to his foster home and probably was a little unsure what was going on. After bringing Niles home when we first got him, he wasn't scared at all. He walked right over to his cat bed and went in it. Niles has been very happy inside and loving life. Niles is an awesome cat! He would make a wonderful family pet!

1/17/20 UPDATE: Miles has met a few dogs while being in the kitty condo at Compassionate Pet Care. He seems to be ok with them when they come up to him. So it is very possible he will be ok in a home with a dog! He also has been around other cats and with time, is ok with them. Great cat! Loves children!

Niles's adoption fee is $95.00.

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
