Hi, my name is Nicky, and I want to share a little bit of my story. I had a home once, but it wasn't really a nice home. My former family didn't even care enough to take me with them when they moved away. They just put me outside and left, thinking I would be able to fend for myself. Well, I couldn't, and it was really tough for me out on my own. I am so grateful a kind neighbor reached out to Proverbs to help me get healthy and find a better home for me. Because of this past with those not very nice people, I have some pretty big fears of new situations. I really need a new home with folks that can be gentle, kind, and patient while I continue to learn that most people aren't mean. I really want a chance at a good life with a family that accepts and loves me.
Nicky was very scared when he came to us. For the best outcome, he needs a consistently safe space with a person or family that will be patient and gentle to allow him to relax and regain trust. His ideal home would be calm and quiet with no children or pets. Nicky has lived in foster homes with other pets, but they seem to make him very anxious, which has slowed his progress at times.
Nicky loves to patrol his home and play on his scratch post. He also likes to bat around fabric mice and watch birds from a sunny window. His favorite treats are Temptations. He has no issues with the litter box or scratching furniture. Nicky is an early riser and a big talker. He enjoys being near his person and appreciates someone that will give him lots of attention. He likes to hear how nice and pretty he is. Nicky is still learning to appreciate being petted.
Nicky has a hard exterior but is very sweet at the core. He wants to be loved, and we hope there's an experienced cat person that can show Nicky all the good things a loving home can provide.Note: He has had blood work taken at the vet and he is in good shape. He's just an older kitty.
Adoption Fee: $150Nicky is neutered, microchipped, is up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV/Feline Leukemia.
