Health: Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. Neela has Stomatitis, a feline dental disease. It results in inflammation of the mucosal tissues of the mouth. (It is closely related to gingivitis, which is inflammation of the gums along the base of the teeth.) It shows up as red and proliferative tissue in the mouth and often in the back corners of the mouth. Because Neela was not getting regular dental care, her gingivitis got worse and most of Neela's teethe were removed. She will need to eat wet food only. Since Neela had a full mouth extraction, she is “clinically cured,” meaning no additional care is necessary (beyond routine dental care for any remaining teeth).
