Hi everyone, I am the seven-year young black and white gentleman named Nalo. According to its African origin, my name means "lovable," and, believe me, that suits me, at least that is what people tell me. One look at my cute face will make you fall in love with me. Before coming to Max Fund, I was abandoned on the streets of Denver, and it was pretty scary and cold. I learned to fend for myself finding places to sleep and food to eat, and the experience made me sad and distrustful. The cute, pink pads on my feet became rough and torn up because of the places I was forced to scrounge for food, which was really painful. However, my time on the streets also gave me a lot of pride in my ability to cope on my own and in rough situations. Because I was constantly on alert, I have used my time here at Max Fund to catch up on some long-overdue self-care. It really feels like being in a spa sometimes. I get to relax, watch the world go by, and have humans bring me food. I mean, come on- so nice for a change. I have a warm, cozy bed, and my feet are healing, so I am loving life. I still have some street in me and a fear of abandonment, so I might snap a bit when I first meet you, but it only takes a repeat visit to my apartment-it could be after even a few minutes of meeting other cats-and I will show you how much I love to have my chin scratched and head petted. I do still love to hunt, only now my prey are mouse and wand toys, but I have really developed a great talent and appreciation for some good rest and relaxation. For that reason, I would like to have a furever home in which I don't have to be on my guard against other cats or dogs and can have humans spoil me like I deserve. I promise to repay you with love, cuddles, and excitement. I can't wait to meet you and show you how much I live up to my name: "lovable."
