Nala Domestic Short Hair Minneapolis, MN

This lovely 10-year-old lady loves following her people around the house, and will always hang out in the same room as you. She knows her name perfectly, so she’ll look up at you when you call her and stare at you with her big, adorable green eyes. She is not a lap cat, but when she feels comfortable with you and wants your attention, she will come up to you and lay half her body on your lap (always keeping her butt on the couch).

One of her funniest and quirkiest traits is that she loves to bury her face in your armpit for around 1 or 2 minutes before plopping down her whole body next to you and sleeping with your arm around her. She is getting more vocal every day, and will ask for food and attention with the cutest high-pitched meows. She loves napping, and from time to time she will be in the mood for short play sessions with her laser pointer.

Now that she is settled in her foster home, she gets the zoomies every day and is very funny to watch. She also loves her toy mice and catnip. She absolutely ADORES cheek scratches and will lay her whole weight on your hand to get more of them. She also likes belly rubs and will ask for them and rest one of her hind paws gently on your arm while you pet her belly.

She has polydactyl front legs so her paws look like cute little mittens and one of her nails doesn’t fully retract so it lightly taps on the ground when she walks—you can always tell where she is by hearing her light tippy taps. She is also extremely gentle and NEVER uses her claws on you—not even during nail trimming!

Nala would do really well with a laid-back family of adults or older children. She doesn't need to be watched 24/7 but would always love someone around to just hang out with. She has plenty of love to give, in her own quiet way, and would thrive in a home where people can be gentle and patient with her, encouraging her but respecting her boundaries as she gains more confidence.
