Nala is the queen of cuddles, constantly seeking out an empty lap to curl up in. Her ideal environment would be very slow-paced and quiet, with plenty of spare blankets to curl up in as she takes one of many daily naps. Nala gets the zoomies around once a day, usually after using her royal throne, and will engage in playing with her favorite string or strawberry chew toy.
Nala came to her foster family needing lots of love. She was not the only cat living in her previous home and was likely bullied by the other cats as she has a hard time playing rough or moving quickly because of her declawing situation. Her front two paws were gruesomely declawed mid-life, so it is painful for her to walk on hard surfaces, jump down from high spaces and navigate exploring spaces. Because of this, she receives an inexpensive dose of pain medication daily, prescribed to her by a vet. Her foster moms think the best home for Nala would be one where she is the sole empress kitty, with no other dogs or cats. They also think she would thrive in a home with no younger children so that she can enjoy her sovereign peace and quiet.
Nala loves to be pampered. She enjoys joining her foster moms’ yoga sessions by crawling up onto bellies or backs mid-session and participating in a royal stretch. She also tends to have very dry and itchy skin, so she receives a weekly mousse treatment, prescribed by the vet, massaged into her highnesses fur, followed by a brushing session. She purrs delightfully as she gets the attention and gives her foster moms’ the evil eye when they refuse to order her a pedicure to go along with her spa treatment. She eats a healthy diet prescribed by the vet also to help her dry and itchy coat subside. Determining the best diet for Nala and her potential allergies is an ongoing process, and her new family will need to continue with food trials to help Nala be her healthiest self.
Nala would be an excellent addition for someone who is home frequently, dedicated to meeting her ongoing health needs, and wants a constant, cuddly companion. She took no time at all to warm up to her foster family and is an absolute joy to foster. Nala cannot wait to move into her new castle soon!
